MurfreesFurs Hurricane Helene Relief Effort

MurfreesFurs Contribution to Hurricane Helene

MurfreesFurs, over the course of the week of October 20th-22nd, has donated around $1,800 worth of supplies and materials to local churches in need, raised from our very own local community. Our amazing volunteer team went into the heart of Asheville, NC, risking their lives to help save locals and give them necessary supplies.

We are beyond grateful for our local community who banded together for a greater cause, and want to extend our gratitude to East TN Furs’ The Herd, and their organizer, Synister (@FullMetalFallow), for coordinating rescue missions with us and helping us further our mission to give back and help our community, the beloved state’s parks, and the citizens within.

Original Announcement & Fundraiser

We’ve all heard about the massive damage that’s been done to parts of East Tennessee and North Carolina and I’m sure we’ve all heard the reports as well as the dramatic lack of supplies and resources that people in the area are struggling with.

We have decided that we would like to make a direct impact in supporting those impacted in this disaster and are working on getting supplies and resources to those in need.

This is where you, the community, come in. Alone we cannot even begin to hope to raise enough funds or supplies to make a dent but together as a community we can come together to help those in need.

Starting today we are collecting donations for those impacted. We are looking for both monetary donations as well as physical items, every little bit helps.

These supplies will be brought directly to those in need and to aid centers that are focused on helping people in directly affected areas. We are working with local groups such as churches, fire departments, community centers, and other larger organizations to ensure that supplies are properly distributed.

Anyone that has been directly affected by this disaster please reach out to our Project Lead (@JEBM16 on Telegram) and we will make sure that we get aid and extra sets of hands in your affected area.

We will be taking all in-person donations of supplies at the upcoming MurfreesFurs meet on the 12th of October and anyone who donates anything at all will get a special gift as a direct thank you for supporting this cause.
